Founded in 2007, the aim of the Australian Wagyu Forum (AWF) is to provide objective information on the production of Japanese Black cattle, combining the resources of ‘Plain English’ access to specialist Japanese animal science, review of breed development initiatives outside Japan and extensive Australian Wagyu production experience. Since 2016, the site has been funded solely by Ginjo Wagyu (Mike Buchanan), with Tak Suzuki and Dom Bayard contributing content. In all other commercial practice, the contributors operate separate independent businesses. Livestock, genetics and services for sale are offered for direct transaction with the individual Contributor businesses as indicated.
The AWF website is a continuous ‘work in progress’. Older sections on Australian and Japanese breeding metrics such as EBVs and Indexes were believed to be accurate at the time of publication but may not always be fully up to date. The reference dates for most AWF website data are included within the text.
The Australian Wagyu Forum is independent of any industry association, authority or commercial sponsor. Advice that may be implied by information on the site should be treated as general in nature. Readers should seek specific expert advice for their individual circumstances in their decision-making and investment in this area.
